Raphael (“Raffi”) Amit is the Marie and Joseph Melone Professor and a Professor of Management at the Wharton School. He has served as the Academic Director of Wharton Entrepreneurship which encompasses all of Wharton’s entrepreneurial programs between 1999 and 2015. Professor Amit holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Israel, and received his Ph.D. in Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Professor Amit’s research and teaching centers on the design and implementation of innovative business model strategies in both startups and incumbent firms, entrepreneurship, venture capital, and on a range of issues that relate to ownership, management and control of Family Businesses. He is frequently quoted in practitioner outlets.
